Schizorhiza rostrum arrives

The elongated rostrum of an extinct ray known as Schizorhiza stromeri has been added to the museum's collections.

The preservation of most of the saw-teeth that line the edges of the rostrum will hopefully shed light on where these tooth-like structures develop from -- a topic of great importance for teeth outside and inside the mouth.
